United Colours for Physical Activity

Celebrated Swedish visual artist Jacob Dahlgren is noted for art seated in the abstract realm, deriving from sights and occurences from the mundane of everyday life. Merging with his ongoing solo exhibition "Abstract Space" at Skellefteå Konsthall is a project by the museum carried out together with Jacob, unaccompanied migrated children and arts students of a local high school. The objective sees Jacob and the participants interpreting physical patterns inherent in sports represented in the Swedish national winter championships (March 20-26) in abstract fashion through painting. The fascinating results presents as signs propagating physical activity rather than political exclamation, on the sidelines of the games. Abstract Space is showing at Skellefteå Konsthall though May 6.
